How to help victims of Central Texas flooding

Catastrophic flooding has had devastating effects on people and communities in Central Texas. Here are some ways to help.

Relief and recovery efforts are ongoing following the catastrophic flash floods that struck Central Texas early in the morning of Friday, July 4th. Tragically, more than 130 people are confirmed to have lost their lives. Communities have sustained significant damage, and survivors will need support in rebuilding.

The Charitable Foundation has joined other community foundations around the country in making a grant to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund at our sister organization in Texas to help with relief for victims of the flooding. Several Texas community foundations have established relief funds, which we encourage those looking to help to consider supporting.

  • The Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, launched by the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, is supporting nonprofit organizations, first responder agencies, and local governments involved in the response to the flooding, relief efforts, and recovery efforts.
  • The Central Texas Community Foundation has established the Wilco Cares fund. Donations received will provide direct financial assistance to those in need.
  • The San Angelo Area Foundation formed the San Angelo Disaster Relief Fund, which will provide financial support to flood victims in San Angelo and surrounding areas.

When crisis and disaster hit — at home or around the globe — we all want to help. For more information about resources that help generous people support relief efforts, visit our disaster philanthropy page.
