Scholarship honors legacy of John P. Foss

Longtime public-school educator John Foss "had a special place in his heart for kids who struggled with learning." Now, a scholarship fund in his name will help students from Milford who have faced disabilities or hardships such as homelessness or mental health challenges; or students studying to become educators who will help children who have faced disability or hardship.

Grants from the Foundation's Community Crisis Action Fund, combined with federal CARES Act funding, made it possible for the cities of Manchester and Nashua to each hire four community health workers to to help people of color access care, testing and other services and resources to improve health outcomes.
Girls, Inc. adapts to help families through a difficult year

With new on-site "Smart Cafes," the nonprofit offered girls whose families needed to work outside the home a place to do remote learning with guidance from staff, three nutritious meals a day and after-school care.
