Barbara Couch

President, Hypertherm HOPE Foundation and Corporate Outreach



Barbara spent 35 years with Hypertherm, Inc. where she was responsible for developing the nationally award-winning programs that focus on the development and well-being of Hypertherm’s associates.  Recognized as one of the best places to work in the United States and in NH, the company’s awards include being listed #12 on the Fortune Magazine list of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in the United States and Business NH Magazine’s Top 10 Best Companies to Work For in NH.  For 24 years, Barbara served as Vice President, Human Resources and, in 2009, she became the company’s first Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and founder and president of the company’s Hypertherm HOPE Foundation.  Hypertherm has been recognized nationally and in NH for its CSR programs.  Barbara also served on Hypertherm’s Board of Directors and chaired its Corporate Culture and Social Responsibility Committee.

Barbara recently served on the Board of Trustees with Dartmouth-Hitchcock and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health and the Board of Advisors for the Geisel School of Medicine. Barbara serves on several local boards and was past chair of NH Public Radio, where she served for nine years.

Barbara and her husband live in Hanover and have three grown daughters.  Her great passion these days is spending time with her grandchildren and working with her daughters on the family foundation she and her husband established in 2001.
