The Foundation will be seeking community participants to design and lead the work of the newly established Racial Justice Fund. The Foundation’s commitment to equity and racial justice is incorporated across our work, and this fund represents one aspect of that commitment, as outlined in the strategic plan, “Together We Thrive.”
For too long, too many people in our communities have faced barriers to basic rights and the ability to thrive. Black, Latino, Asian, Indigenous and other people of color, in particular, face disproportionate barriers. We acknowledge and continue to learn about how systemic inequity and racism harm everyone and are at the root of many of our collective challenges. We hope that this fund will help address current inequities and work toward the condition of justice for all.
The work of the fund will be led by a group of community partners with lived experience and a passion for advancing racial justice. The group will decide how the fund should be used to advance racial justice in New Hampshire and define goals and priorities for the fund, which will have dedicated funding from the Foundation.
The Foundation will be seeking approximately 15 community members to join a team to design the work of this statewide fund. We will be seeking participants with a demonstrated commitment to racial justice work, specifically Black, indigenous, people of color, immigrants and young adults.
Additional details, including a link to an application page, will be available in June.
