Pitch Camp 2018

Entrepreneurs' Fund of New Hampshire

Spend a day at camp and walk away with the skills to communicate more effectively about your organization’s mission and impact.

The Entrepreneurs’ Fund of New Hampshire, an initiative of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, channels the expertise, energy and passion of the state’s leading entrepreneurs to strengthen New Hampshire communities through innovative philanthropy.

Since 2011, EFNH has sponsored the AMP Grant program where nonprofits deliver a three-minute pitch presenting their innovative idea to EFNH members asking for their financial support. To prepare for the AMP grant competitions, finalists were paired with EFNH mentors, who worked one-on-one with nonprofits to help craft engaging and persuasive pitches. Finalists took part in an afternoon “pitch camp” prior to the final event to help put the finishing touches on their pitches.

The feedback received from nonprofit participants on the pitch camp experience has been overwhelmingly positive. So this year, EFNH has decided to expand pitch camp to reach more nonprofits. This pilot will open up pitch camp to all nonprofits and is not based on an application process to the AMP Grant program.

How to participate

Nonprofits can register one board or senior staff member for one of the three pitch camps happening across the state on the morning of January 17. Participating nonprofits will need to commit roughly 12 hours to properly prepare for Pitch Camp 2018 — time spent drafting and practicing their organizational pitch, meeting with their mentors and attending pitch camp in January.

In early December, each participant will be paired with a mentor. Participants will introduce the mentor to their organization and work. The mentor will provide coaching to help enhance an organization’s pitch to external audiences.

At pitch camp, participants will gather to practice giving their pitch, get group feedback and further refine it. At the end of the day, the attendee will be better prepared to talk about their organization’s work out in the world! Participants will also have the opportunity to continue this work on a specific organizational project by applying for the 2018 AMP Grant and have the chance to win a $50,000 grant for their work.
