Current Giving

By establishing a fund with the Charitable Foundation, you can start addressing critical needs today – and have an enduring impact tomorrow. You decide what type of fund would work best for you, what types of assets to give, and when.

We will help you translate your passion into action.

Choose your fund type

We can help you decide which type of giving fund best matches your charitable goals and vision. You can name your fund, and can keep your giving anonymous if you wish. Or you may choose to contribute to an existing Foundation fund.

  • Donor-advised funds

Choose which organizations to support, and when

Donor-advised funds allow you to organize your giving through one expertly managed and cost-effective vehicle. Gifts qualify for an immediate tax deduction, and you can take your time deciding which organizations and issues to support. Foundation staff can assist, as requested, with deep community knowledge, grantmaking expertise and vetted giving opportunities.

    Manage your fund online
We also offer online tools so you can manage your fund online and find and fund grant opportunities that matter to you, when it’s convenient for you.

    An alternative to private foundations
Donor-advised funds are a simple and more cost-effective alternative to creating a private foundation, because we handle the administration – so you can focus on your giving.

  • Scholarship funds

Help New Hampshire’s kids get the education they need to thrive

Scholarship funds help New Hampshire’s kids get the education they need to thrive in their careers and communities. The Foundation is the largest source of publicly-available scholarships in the state, administering 375 scholarship funds created by generous donors, and making awards to about 1,700 promising students every year.

  • Unrestricted funds

Give to strengthen New Hampshire communities

Unrestricted funds allow for broad support of community well-being and flexibility to meet the changing needs of our communities. Ideal for donors who want to build maximum versatility into their giving, and place responsibility with the Foundation to direct grants for maximum impact.

  • Field-of-interest funds

Support the causes you care about most

Field-of-interest funds help people passionate about an issue area – the environment, arts, children’s health – to provide support, through the Foundation’s grantmaking processes, for a variety of organizations and initiatives focusing on that issue.

  • Designated funds

Support a specific nonprofit organization doing great work

Designated funds support a specific nonprofit organization of your choice. In the event that the organization ceases operation, the Foundation will direct funds to another nonprofit that represents your charitable intentions.

  • Agency fund

Nonprofits can create a lasting source of capital to support its mission

Agency funds are established by nonprofit organizations so they can create a lasting source of capital to support its mission now and in the future. Nonprofits can take advantage of the Foundation’s investment management and gift planning expertise with complex assets – and the administrative ease of having the Foundation manage and distribute funds and manage record-keeping and tax reporting.
