When to apply?Applications must be submitted
by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2010.
Who should apply?New Hampshire residents who are:
- Between the ages of 17 and 23.
- Enrolling in a four-year baccalaureate degree program.
- Enrolling full time or half time; (NOT part time).
Selection criteriaStudents are selected to receive awards based on financial need, academic merit and other non-academic factors such as community service, school activities and work experience. Highest priority is given to students with the fewest financial resources.
Determining financial needCandidates are required to submit a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) that is the result of filling out the Free Federal Form (FAFSA), which determines what a particular family can reasonably afford for education or the
expected family contribution. In addition, finalists will be asked to supply a copy of the financial aid package offered by the institution to be attended.
Award availabilityThis is a competitive program. Typically, one award is made for every four applications received. Each year, approximately $700,000 is disbursed. with each award ranging from $500 to $3,500. The average award is $1,800.
Award decisionsApplicants will be notified of their status by the end of June.
