The Medallion Fund

The Medallion Fund was created by a group of area businessmen who recognize that a skilled workforce is critical for expanding economic development. The goal of the fund is to assist individuals who are interested attending accredited vocational or technical programs for the purpose of improving their workforce skills, especially in high need occupations in the state of New Hampshire.

When to apply
There is no deadline. Applications are accepted at any time during the year. Decisions are made every four to six weeks.

Who should apply?

New Hampshire residents of any age who are enrolling in any accredited vocational or technical program.  Students currently enrolled in a BA or advanced degree program are not eligible.

Preferences

Because Medallion Fund resources are limited, the selection committee gives preference to the following:

  • Applicants whose fields are in the traditional manufacturing trade sector such as plumbing, electrical, construction, machining, etc.
  • Applicants who have a clear vision for how their education will help them achieve or improve their employment and career goals.
  • Applicants who have had little or no other educational or training opportunities.
  • Applicants who have made a financial commitment to their educational program both financially and otherwise.

Award decisions
If you receive an award, you can expect the award to be paid within two weeks after receiving an award letter.
