This weekly radio series highlights New Hampshire’s nonprofits
The Giving Matters series on New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR) showcases the stories of nonprofit organizations around the state and the ways in which they strengthen communities and enrich lives. The series is a joint project of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and NHPR. It airs at 8:35 a.m. on Saturday mornings.
“We are delighted to be working with the station on this project,” said Deborah Schachter, senior program officer at the Foundation. “Nonprofits do exceptional and vital work all across the state. We hope that Giving Matters will inspire folks to learn more about charitable groups in their own communities, and will motivate people to become more involved in supporting nonprofit organizations of their choice.”
The program first aired in fall 2007. Previously, the Foundation and NHPR had worked together for five years to produce short spots highlighting more than 120 charitable groups. These spots featured first-hand stories of real people whose lives have been touched by nonprofits’ work. Giving Matters offers enhanced, longer segments with more detail and more voices.
Giving Matters recently featured the Mariposa Museum in Peterborough. We are invited to listen in as Temple Elementary School teacher Nancy Drogy brings her students to the museum to experience the cultural wonders of the world.
